We at Devonia Lodge are proud to announce that our refurbishment programme is nearly finished as all the interior work is now complete. The work has taken over 8 months to finish and the results are pleasing.

We have totally revamped the whole face of Devonia Lodge with a complete rewire, new pipe work, bathrooms, new radiators and central heating overhaul, CCTV in ALL public areas including car park, all new double glazed windows plus all internal decoration, replacing all soft furnishings, sofa’s, beds, carpets, curtains etc; However every effort has been made to retain older features like fire places and coving etc which are typically over 150 years old.

Although we benefit from the original features and pleasant characteristic surroundings, we also have a modern twist too; there is now a comfortable fully licensed Bar/lounge complete with a 42” Plasma screen with state of the art cinema surround sound, open to residents and non residents. All guest rooms have colour co-ordinated bedding and wall mounted flat screen LCD digital Freeview TV’s for our guest’s added comfort.

Devonia Lodge dates back to 1856 and uniquely Devonia Lodge is and was the first guest house on Hoole Road in Chester, in the sense of time and location. Hoole Road (A56) is principally the main accommodation area of Chester and is popular with visitors from all over the world due to its excellent location nearest to the City.

Of all the guest houses on Hoole Road, Devonia Lodge is closest to the city centre which is approximately 8-10 minutes walk and a mere 5 minutes walk to the railway station. Also uniquely the same family has run and owned Devonia Lodge for over 40 years, and still offers you tremendous value and a homely welcome.
